Abstract: Digestive malignancy is a significant factor that still threatens human health. The Hedgehog signaling pathway plays a critical role in embryogenesis and the formation and maintenance of adult tissue homeostasis. The Hedgehog signaling pathway is shown to be involved in a variety of carcinogenesis events, such as gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, pancreatic cancer. Here we focused on the role of the Hedgehog signaling pathway in the development and progression of digestive malignancy, which shed light into the underlying molecular mechanism that is important to its early detection and therapeutic strategy.
