Abstract: There were obvious differences between two MCF-7 cell lines from different labs on the morphology and growth rate in vitro. The xenotransplantation of two MCF-7 cell lines into NOD/SCID mice were studied. The immunohistochemistry was investigated on the tumors, which showed the loss of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (Her2) in two cell lines, and the loss of estrogen receptor a (ERa) in one cell line. The results suggested that the increase of cell proliferation rate might be correlated with the loss of ERa in MCF-7 cell line.
