Abstract: Cell wall participates in not only the determination of the cell shape, but also the regulation of cell development and differentiation during plant development. In the process, some signal molecules, especially the products derived from the hydrolysis of cell wall compounds play very important roles in the intra- and extra-cellular signal transduction that is essential for cell differentiation. In this review, we briefly describe the recent experimental evidences concerning cell wall involvement in regulation of plant embryogenesis.
