RNA Methylation and Chromatin Remodeling in Cancer
YE Canbin, ZHANG Jialiang, LIN Dongxin, ZHENG Jian*
Epigenetic reprogramming plays a crucial role in the development of cancer, where the interplay between RNA m6A (N6-methyladenosine) methylation modification and chromatin remodeling has a significant impact on tumor progression. This review summarizes the interactions between m6A modification and chromatin remodeling, including the impact of co-transcriptional m6A incorporation on chromatin remodeling, how RNA m6A regulates chromatin status by affecting DNA methylation and histone modifications, and the regulatory role of RNA m6A on the three-dimensional structure of chromatin. Additionally, it discusses how chromatin remodeling can reciprocally regulate RNA m6A modification, including its effects on the expression and function of RNA m6A-related factors. These interactions play a key regulatory role in the occurrence, development, and therapeutic response of tumors.
