Abstract: The sequence Arg-Gly-Asp (RGD) is the essential structure recognised by animal cells in substrate adhesion molecules. It is generally thought that the interaction between plasma membrane-bound receptors known as integrins and extracellular adhesive proteins is mediated through the RGD motif, which involved in transmembrane signaling and many physiologic process. The recent discovery suggests that this type of interaction may be widespread in the plant kingdom. The advance in RGD motif and its receptor research for plant cell was reviewed.
