Abstract:

Common pathological pains mainly include inflammatory pain, neuropathic pain and cancer pain. The pathogenesis of pathological pain is extremely complicated, and it is difficult to be treated clinically. CCL5 (chemokine ligand 5), also known as RANTES, belongs to the CC chemokine family. In recent years, some studies have found that CCL5/RANTES is directly or indirectly involved in the generation and maintenance of pathological pain, and the chemokine CCL5 modulates the analgesic effect of opioid receptors by desensitizing opioid receptors heterologously. Therefore, the role of CCL5 in pathological pain and its related mechanisms are reviewed in this paper.
