Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a common pregnancy complication that refers to spontaneous glucose intolerance first occurs or diagnosed during pregnancy. In recent years, studies have found that a large number of non-coding RNAs (ncRNA) are involved in the development of GDM, including microRNA (miRNA), long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) and circular RNA (circRNA). This review focuses on the biological roles of miRNA, lncRNA and circRNA in the development and progression of GDM, which helps us better understand the molecular mechanisms by which ncRNAs function and interact with each other in GDM, providing further information for future research.
