Abstract: Actin filaments are one of the main component of the cytoskeleton, which are widely exist in all eukaryotic cells. Actin filaments and actin-associated proteins-mediated signaling pathways play important roles in many cellular biological events, including cell morphology maintain, cell motility, signal transduction. Actin filaments and actin-associated proteins also play a key role in development, and their abnormality is associated with disease. In this review, we summarized the latest advance of actin, actin-associated proteins, actin-related signaling pathways and their correlation with diseases. We also preliminarily discussed the future research direction of actin filaments.
