Abstract: The ontogenesis depends on cell differentiation. In cell differentiation, genes have the choice expression according to certain time and the spatial order. And through turning genes on or off, the specific protein is expressed. Cell differentiation is affected by a variety of factors, and the basement membrane is one of the factors affecting cell differentiation. The main constituents of the basement membrane are collagen, laminin and perlecan. Each of them play a role in cell differentiation. This paper mainly elaborates the function and mechanism of basement membrane and its main components that are involved in cell differentiation, which will provide new ideas for cell differentiation.
