Abstract: To explore the effect of Grp78 on cell migration and adhesion, we treated HEK239 cells with Grp78 AS-ODN to knock down the expression of Grp78, and analyzed the status of cell migration and cell adhesion. We found that Grp78 knockdown inhibits the migration of HEK293, and enhances the adhesion between cells and substrate. Further study revealed Grp78 AS-ODN treatment promotes the formation of adhesion plaque, and causes the redistribution of GTPase RhoA on cellular membrane and in cytoplasm. Taken together, specific down-regulation of Grp78 could inhibit cell migration and enhance adhesion between cell and substrate in HEK293 cells.
