Abstract: The transformation of endometrium into decidua is an important feature of implantation and essential for pregnancy. During decidualization, endometrial stromal cells have undergone large morphological and physiological changes. Decidualization is regulated by various factors, including cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP), insulin-like growth factor binding protein-1 (IGFBP-1), natural killer (NK) cells, homeobox A10 (HOXA10) and heparin-binding EGF-like growth factor (HB-EGF). However, the mechanism underlying decidualization is still unknown.
