Abstract: Directional cell migration guided by small directed electric fields is known as electrotaxis/galvanotaxis. The electrotaxis is suggested to play an important role in embryonic development, inflammatory response, tumor metastasis, tissue repair and regeneration. Experimental evidences indicate that the electrotaxis is collectively affected by both intracellular and extracellular factors. Here we reviewed the research advances on the factors which might be involved in electrotaxis.
