Abstract: Ca2+ plays a crucial role as a second messenger in various stresses resistance and developmental signaling pathways in plant cells. The calcineurin B-like protein (CBL), which interacts with CBL-interacting protein kinase (CIPK), decodes the specific signal of Ca2+. This review summarized recent advances in the research field of CBL-CIPKs network of signaling system, mainly focusing on the characteristics of interactions and physiological functions. Moreover, we provided new insights into CBL-CIPKs research in future.
