Generative and Sperm Cells of Angiosperms

Abstract: Two Sperm cells from a pollen tube fuse with egg cell and central call separately to complete the double fertilization of angiosperms. The researches on sperm cells are becoming an active field of plant developmental and reproductive biology with technique development of cell and molecular biology and of isolating sperm cells. Based on the recently results of cell and molecular biology on generative and sperm cells of angiosperms， we reviewed the advance on the generative cell producing， the formation and development of sperm cell， the proteins on the surface of sperm cell， the isolation of specific sperm promoter and creating cDNA library of both sperm cells. The results of recent research into these topics may help us to understand the mechanism in sperm cell development of angiosperms.
