Abstract: The faithful chromosome segregation is crucial for transmitting the genetic information accurately in eukaryotic organisms. Many chromosome segregation-related genes have been screened and cloned through the mutation researches on eukaryotic mode organisms, especially on the yeast. Thus, the molecular mechanism of chromosome segregation is being exposed. Cohesin is the basis of the sister chromatid cohesion, and the cohesin's degradation, spindle checkpoint, and shugoshin play the important roles in accurate chromosome segregation.
