Abstract: The embryonic stem cells (ESC) have been successfully used to study the development of the hematopoietic cell lineages. During the past decades, an increasing number of studies have demonstrated the in vitro hematopoietic differentiation systems of both mouse and human ESC cells, which provide useful tools for elucidating the regulation of hematopoietic development. In this review, we summarize the recent progress in the hematopoietic differentiation from pluripotent embryonic stem cells.
