Abstract: Antisense RNA (AS-RNA) is a kind of non-coding RNA. Antisense transcription is a widespread phenomenon in the mammalian genome. It is thought to play a role in regulation of gene expression. Recent study confirmed that antisense RNA medicated gene-expression mainly through epigenetic mechanism. The changes of the level of DNA methylation, heterochromatin formation by the histone modification and other non-coding RNA interferences might be related to antisense RNA.
