Abstract: The cooperative relations among transcription factors and the cis-regulatory logic are both fundamental in DNA transcription activation. To predict the functional cooperative relationship patterns among trans-cooperative factors existing in a gene expression regulation, we propose a new method, which is based on the multiple stepwise regression analysis, to identify cooperation among NF-κB (p65), AP1, and CREB in transcription activation of human cytomegalovirus major IE1 promoter/enhancer (MIEP). The computational results show that the method is effective and can be applied on understanding the transcription control systems.
