Abstract: Cell cycle checkpoint is a vital mechanism to maintain the genomic stability of the cell. It mainly includes DNA damage checkpoint, DNA replication checkpoint and spindle assembly checkpoint. Among these checkpoints, DNA damage checkpoint can detect the DNA damages in the cell and cause cell cycle arrest, which will guarantee proper damage repair and ensure genomic stability. Studies of DNA damage checkpoint have achieved great progress in recent years. This paper will make a brief review about these advances.
