Expression of Neuropeptide Y5 Receptor in Rat Stomach

Abstract: We investigated mRNA and protein expression of Y5 receptor in the stomach of normal and gastroparetic rats by using RT-PCR， Western blot and immunohistochemistry methods. NPY-Y5 receptor expression was found mainly in the epithelial cells of rat antrum， and the expression level was down-regulated in gastroparetic rats as compared to normal rats. The results indicate that NPY-Y5 receptor is possibly involved in the regulation of gastric motility.
