Application of Single-Cell RNA-seq: An Update Review
Chao Shanshan, Bu Pengcheng*
Biological tissue consists of a variety of heterogeneous cells and the differences between individual cells have profound effects on the function of multicellular organisms. The developed single-cell mRNAsequencing technology in recent years can conduct unbiased, repeatable, high-resolution and high-throughput transcriptomic analysis of individual cells. Compared with traditional bulk populations of cells analysis, single-cell RNA-sequencing technology enables us to understand transcriptomic information from another dimension, revealing the composition of biological tissues, the transcriptomic dynamics and the regulatory relationships between genes. With the development and improvement of key technologies in cell capture, molecular biology and bioinformatics, their applications in biology and medicine will be more and more popular. In this review, we discuss the development history and applications of single cell mRNA-sequencing.
