Abstract: Autophagy is a ubiquitous and evolutionarily conserved process in eukaryotes. It has been presumed to be involved in cellular architectural changes that occur during differentiation and development, presumably via its roles in organelle and protein turnover. Here we review its molecular mechanism and functions. The further concerning research on rice blast fungus M. oryzae were been discussed as well.
