Abstract: Recent studies indicate that, a number of degenerative diseases are related to the presence of amyloid fibrils in the affected tissues and organs, which is caused by protein misfolding and aggregation. This review explains and discusses the new understandings, findings and progresses of protein misfolding and aggregation made by international scientists and researchers, integrated with author's 10-year research experiences and achievements. The mechanism of formation, pathopoiesis and regulation of the protein deposition disease in vivo is the main focus of this review.
