Abstract: Electron tomography is a three-dimensional imaging technique for visualizing macromolecules, organelles, cells and tissues at 2~10 nm resolutions. It can be used to monitor the location, distribution and interactions of marcomolecules in cells and tissues and is becoming an important 3D technique for obtaining molecular information at physiological conditions. Here we give a brief introduction of electron tomography and its application in cell biology.
