The cultured vascular smooth muscle cells were transiently prefixed with paraformaldehyde, then stained with coomassie brilliant blue as routine procedures. The cytoskeleton stained by the modified method was clear and kept its nature shape. The paraformaldehyde prefixed-coomassie brilliant blue staining is a convenient cytoskeleton staining method for muscle cells.
