Abstract: Sumo (small ubiquitin-related modifier) is one of the ubiquitin-related proteins and resembles ubiquitin's ability to be reversibly ligand to other proteins. Unlike ubiquitin induces protein degradation, sumoylation regulates protein/protein interaction, localization ,and stability. Here we show more details about sumo in class, structure, ligation pathway and biological function.

Key words: SUMO; Sumoylation
