Advances in Centrosome Assembly

Abstract  In animal cells, centrosome is the major microtubule organizing center (MTOC), which plays important role in cell motility and polarity, cilia biogenesis and cytokinesis. Here we summarize the centrosome structure, centrosome duplication process, and recent adavances in the assembly of centrosome key components, which may provide some cues in further study of centrosome assembly and the underlying regulation mechanism.
